By accessing or using morris.plyyard.com, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. They apply to AI play, same-device two-player games, online rooms, PWA installation, and related site content. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Nature of the service
This site provides a free browser-based Nine Men's Morris board for personal practice, rules instruction, same-device play, and temporary online rooms. It does not provide rank certification, prize competition, guaranteed competitive adjudication, or skill-based automatic matchmaking.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may correct rules implementation, adjust AI search, interfaces, storage, room capacity or expiration, or suspend a feature. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation on every device or network.
Permitted and prohibited use
- You may use the board normally for personal, family, or teaching purposes, share room links, and link to public pages on this site.
- Do not harass other players, impersonate a seat, disrupt a game, occupy public rooms abusively, or misuse spectator and reconnect features.
- Do not bypass connection rates, room capacity, permissions, or security controls, or automate bulk room creation, content retrieval, or requests.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access to another room, server data, or system function, and do not distribute malicious code or attack traffic.
- You must have the right to provide any text, screenshots, or attachments you send, and should omit unnecessary third-party personal data.
Rules used by this site
This site implements Nine Men's Morris: 24 points, nine placements by each side, White moving first, removal after forming a new mill, movement along a line to an adjacent empty point, and flying when a player has three stones. See Nine Men's Morris Rules for complete legal-move and winning conditions.
Differences between AI, same-device, and online play
- AI and same-device play: Hints, undo, and move-by-move replay are available. Local data can be lost when site data is cleared.
- Online rooms: The room service validates and synchronizes legal moves. There are no hints or unilateral undo; players may resign or offer a draw.
- Public and private rooms: Any visitor may join a public room. A private room relies on its link or room code to limit entry, and anyone holding that credential may still attempt to enter.
- Disconnection and expiration: Network loss, reconnection of the same seat elsewhere, closure by the host, or room timeout may end the current connection.
AI and hints
AI moves and hints come from time-limited search in the browser. Results can vary with difficulty, device performance, and search limits, and may not be theoretically optimal. They are for practice and comparison, not a teaching outcome, strength rating, or tournament ruling.
Content and intellectual property
The page design, original writing, brand marks, image assets, and software implementation belong to Ply Yard or the relevant rights holders. The traditional rules of Nine Men's Morris do not become proprietary under these terms, but you may not copy the complete interface without permission, mirror the service, remove source branding, or present a misleading copy as this site.
Availability, data, and limitation of liability
Save any game record or screenshot you need to keep long term. The site does not promise permanent retention of local games, room state, or a reconnectable seat, or uninterrupted availability of hints, AI moves, spectator state, or connections.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ply Yard is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from service interruption, data loss, device performance, network failure, room closure, third-party entry, or reliance on AI suggestions. Liability that cannot legally be excluded is not limited by this paragraph.
Room links and your responsibility
Private rooms have no account-based approval process; the complete link or room code is the access information. Share it only with intended players, and do not expose it in public posts, live streams, or unredacted screenshots. In a public room, expect unknown visitors to join or watch.
See the Privacy Policy for how local storage, room synchronization, and technical requests are handled.
Enforcement and changes to these terms
To protect the service and other players, we may reject requests, restrict connections, close rooms, or block evident abuse. We may update these terms when features or legal requirements change; a published revision applies to subsequent access and use.
